Surprises
Today I learned that life
deals in surprises.
It doesn’t plan;
It doesn’t require notice;
We have to bend our own reality
to accept beauty as it comes
in different forms.
Midnight sky;
Morning dew;
Lover fresh from the shower;
Intimate breath;
Child’s laugh.
I yearn to be at peace.
Surprises are abundant.
